The Keys To A Healthy Low Carb Diet
Take this healthy low carb diet advice to the grocery store!
You hear a lot of talk in the media these days about low carb dieting and how great it is. Well, what is often glossed over is the fact that a healthy low carb diet involves more than simply stripping carbs out of your diet altogether. People like to think that eating all fat and all protein and just swapping out carbs and just sitting on their asses all day and all night can actually -- we are not making this up, this is America after all -- make them healthy. A low carb diet is more than that. You have to be smart about it. You have to make the right decisions and see the forest for the trees, if you will. It's a whole body of work.
A couple of things that you have to remember about a healthy low carb diet...
- There are good carbohydrates and bad ones. The good ones are also known as complex, because they make you feel full longer, so you do not over eat. They also give you energy to burn, which you will need in order to power through a workout.
- That is the key to a really long lasting and healthy low carb diet right there. You have to understand that by exercising, you'll get a lot more milage out of any dietary measures you take. This stimulates cardiovascular and digestive health, too.
- Limit the empty carbs such as white bread and regular pasta and shift over the brown rice, whole grains, fruits and vegetables and the like. That way you get the carbs you need to stay healthy, but not the crap that makes you bloated and gnarly looking.
Well that pretty much sums it up. So be smart about your healthy low carb diet and make it work.
